Danbury: A Wonderful Place to Live
Located approximately 50 miles northeast of New York City lies Danbury, Connecticut, a city of about 85,000 residents. Named the second-best city to live in the United States by USA Today in 2015, Danbury is noted for its welcoming, natural atmosphere, family-friendly appeal, and historic beginnings. Danbury was originally settled in 1685, taking its name after Danbury, England. Beginning in the 1700s and for nearly two hundred years afterward, Danbury was known for its hat industry. Today, the city is served by The Scott-Fanton Museum, which holds a historical display of these hats. Danbury also boasts several other attractions, including Danbury Railway Museum, Danbury Fair Mall (one of the largest shopping centers in New England), and Bear Mountain Reservation. Plus, with New York City within easy driving distance of the city, Danbury residents are never far from ample employment opportunities and some of the finest dining, entertainment, and shopping in the world.
